There’s actually a recommended technique for painting a wall – are you familiar with it? First, wipe down the walls with a damp cloth to remove dust and other particles. Unless you are a professional painter, it is advisable to cover the edges of all door and window frames as well as the corners where the walls meet the ceiling with painters tape. Start by painting all the edges of the walls (called “cutting in”) with a 2” nylon brush. Then use a roller to paint the rest of the wall, starting from the top and moving down. Working on a small area of the wall, apply strokes in a “W” pattern and then fill in the spaces of the “W”. Allow the wall to dry for the time recommended on the paint can before applying a second coat.
